Seraphine Montgomery was the much longed for first child and first daughter of Clark and Melinda Montgomery, but it was very clear from the start that she would not be an easy child, and as the Montgomerys added to their brood, it was clear that their first child would be as different from the others as night and day. All Montgomery children were brought up in a thinking, privleged household, and while Seraphine, or Sera as she preferred to be called, was as smart as either parent or her younger siblings, she simply didn't seem to want to apply herself like her younger sister. Both parents saw the potential in their daughter and she was by no means spoiled or vain in any way, though she certainly could have been given the life the Montgomerys were afforded due to their father's prestige and their mother's medical degree, but she was not to be what many would call special. But that was only because that was the way Sera herself wanted it to be.

Seraphine was a cunning and calculating child. She made herself seem vapid and spoiled, made everyone around her believe that she didn't apply herself or wasnt' as smart as the other students, or even her other siblings, because that made people underestimate her. She was the kind of girl that didn't mind if people thought she was weak because she was female. She always proved them wrong in the end. Despite paying more attention to parties than academics, Seraphine aced her classes, going on to graduate at the top of her class with her pick of Ivy League colleges beating each other off to be the one that she ultimately chose.

When she crossed the stage at graduation and received her diploma, she had, to everyone's knowledge, accepted a position at Brown University, starting in the fall. But, one night, after all the graduation parties had ended and there was a lull, Sera disappeared. The disappearance was only for a short time, given that her family recieved news of her whereabouts within a day or so of her going missing, but she was most definitely not in a position to attend Brown come fall. In fact, her parents found out their daughter had, without their knowledge, deferred her enrollment months prior. What she'd done instead, was gone on a journey. Sera, profoundly unhappy in her life, took off with a friend and began to backpack through Europe. They traveled together for a year before migrating to England where Sera had fallen in love with the idea of finally getting her higher education by enrolling at Oxford University.

It was while she lived and studied in England that she had the first romance that would stick. While backpacking, the mysterious young woman who could soon speak the language, had many dalliances in many countries, but it was a gentleman she met in London that would grab hold of her heart for longer than anyone else. The pair would have a whirlwind romance, marrying in secret and remaining married for nearly two years before he felt the need to move his life badk to the States. Sera, while she loved him, wanted to complete her education at Oxford and continue to explore Europe before she had to "settle down." Sera let the man go and while she claims she has moved on, there is a part of her that still holds a torch for her clever transplate.

Eventually, Sera stopped her aimless wanderings and realized finding a job, rather than flitting from place to place, was the next step in her life.. Seraphine had an iron-clad conviction that made her seem cold and distant to some, but she always seemed to get what she wanted in the end. Always. She never let anyone's opinion of her get in the way of what she knew she could get her hands on. She would have stayed in Europe, liking the lifestyle more than she liked the American lifestyle, but real life, family life, came calling in a big way.

Seraphine established herself withing an international company as lawyer. Her knack with languages, and her ability to persuade people to do what she wanted them to do made her powerful in ways that couldn't necessarily be quantified. She made a home in the company, though she flitted from office to office in different countries every so often, whenever she felt the need to uproot her life, she got herself transfered to another office. Going home to Boston wasn't on her radar until she received word that her father was ill and didn't have much time left. Despite feeling like going back to the states would be tantamount to going backwards in her life, she once again requsted a transfer and has found herself back in the city of her birth, awaiting the moment when she can once again flee, or find a reason to stay.
